Authorities in Tasmania are working to identify a pink slime that has appeared on a secluded beach, with a number of researchers anxious it could be an phytoplankton proliferation.

Widespread Presence On Coastline

The pink-tinged sludge was found on a portion of a southern bay about 37 miles south of the capital. A similar sludge has also been noted on sections of Little Roaring Beach and a separate bay.
